
Parker Davis had two goals and two assists to lead the 10th-seeded Class 1A Notre Dame-West Burlington 6-0 past Hillcrest Academy on Monday night in a boys’ football game at Tackleson Field.
Davis made seven shots, five of them on target. Gabe Zurita scored two goals with four shots. Hunter Lillie and Cole Ward each scored points for the Nikes. Logan Kamrath set up two goals. Alexander AbouAssaly and Carson Wagner each had an assist.
Goalkeeper Arya Nowroozi won the shutout with no saves.
ND-WB (3-1) plays in Mediapolis on Thursday. Hillcrest Academy slipped to 2-3.

NO. 13 FORT MADISON 10, NO. 15 BURLINGTON 0: Xander Wellman’s goal, assisted by Austin Miller in the 13th minute, was the only goal needed by Fort Madison, ranked 13th in Class 2A, but the Bloodhounds scored nine more goals at the Baxter Sports Complex.
Fort Madison led 8-0 at halftime.
Wellman and Mitchell Pothitakis each scored four goals. Leif Boeding and Henry Graham each added a goal. Miller finished the game with three assists, Wellman and Boeding each had two assists, and Pothitakis, Phillip Goldie and Oliver Santiago each had one.
Reiburn Turnbull earned the shutout with a save.
Fort Madison improved to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The Bloodhounds host Mount Pleasant Thursday.
The 14th Class 3A Burlington (4-1, 3-1) plays in Washington on Thursday.
Fort Madison also won the junior varsity match 3-0. Jamarkus Kline scored two goals and Peyton Lambert added one.
WASHINGTON 10, KEOKUK 0: Bill De La Rosa and Brayan Arrealo each scored three goals and the Demons drove to Keokuk in a Southeast Conference game at Washington’s Wellness Park.
Arrealo also had two assists, Erick Ortez Jr. added a goal and two assists for Washington. Emre Akgul had a goal and an assist. Kevin Marcelino and Emanuel Raymundo each scored a goal.
Washington improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Keokuk (1-6, 1-3) plays at Fairfield on Thursday.
FAIRFIELD 9, MOUNT PLEASANT 0: The Trojans scored seven second-half goals in a Southeast Conference win at Mount Pleasant.
Fairfield improved to 1-4 (1-3). Mount Pleasant (1-6, 0-4) plays Fort Madison on Thursday.
GIRLS SOCCER
MOUNT PLEASANT 10, FAIRFIELD 0: Two hat tricks led the Panthers to a Southeast Conference win at Fairfield.
Elly Manning and Charice Auwerda each scored three goals for Mount Pleasant and both had two assists. Tori Wilson and Abby West finished the game with two goals and two assists each. Eva Rounceville also had an assist.
Sophomore goaltender Evelyn Escobar earned the shutout with two saves.
Mount Pleasant (4-2, 2-1) hosts Fort Madison on Thursday. Fairfield is 0-4 (0-4).
WASHINGTON 10, KEOKUK 2: Washington defeated the Chiefs in a Southeast Conference game at Keokuk’s Calvert Stadium.
Washington is now 6-1 (3-1 SEC). Keokuk (2-5, 0-4) plays at Fairfield on Thursday.
MID PRAIRIE 4, CENTRAL LEE 2: Aubree Boyd and Makayla Morrison each scored, but the Lady Hawks failed in a loss to the Golden Hawks at Wellman.
Bailey Schwartz had seven saves for the Lady Hawks, who host Notre Dame-West Burlington/Danville on Tuesday.
The girls played really well last night. They moved the ball down the field and we had chances but couldn’t finish,” said Central Lee coach Antonio Estrada. It was really fun to watch them play and work as a team.”
GIRL GOLF
BRIGGS LEADS BRA: Lauren Briggs was a medalist with a 5-over-42 at Mount Pleasant Golf & Country Club and led Burlington High School to a team-second spot at the Mount Pleasant Invitational.
Washington won by 198 strokes. Burlington carded a 206, followed by Keokuk (207) and Fairfield (209). Host Mount Pleasant didn’t have enough players for a team rating.
Also playing for Burlington were Izzi Taylor (49), Elaina Murders (57), Dylan Taeger (58), Edie Blom (64) and Hannah Wetzel (75).
Natalie Ames led Keokuk at 45. Other Chiefs included Chloe Ruhl (54), Allison Ames (54), Anna Hinton 54, Kaylie Watson (56) and Heidi Rose (60). Sammi Wibben (49) and Kylie Walderbach (57) played for Mount Pleasant.
BOYS GOLF
ROTH, DEMONS WIN SEC MEET: Roman Roth was a 4-over-39 medalist and led Washington to victory at a Southeast Conference meeting at the Washington Golf & Country Club.
Washington won with 172 and Fairfield was second with 182. Mount Pleasant was third with 195 followed by Keokuk (206) and Fort Madison (227).
Nick Matheny led Mount Pleasant at 42. Other Panthers: Reece Kempker (48), Reece Coffman (52), Nate Dismang (53), Ben Meador (61), and Izaac Zihlman (63).
Nick Profeta’s 45 led Keokuk. Other Chiefs: Jordan Sisk (47), Jaydan Thomas (54), Byror Lindner (60) and Alex Capaldo (61).
Fort Madison was led by Tyler Wade, who carded a 47. Other Bloodhounds: Brady Wade (55), Aiden Pennock (60), and Emmett Kruse (65).
