SMCC lacrosse wins twice; Obey leads Milan soccer

The St. Mary Catholic Central boys’ lacrosse team earned its first two wins of the season by beating Grosse Ile 10-5 on Tuesday and the Toledo Wolfpack 14-9 on Wednesday.

Riley DeSarbo scored four goals in the first game and six goals in the second. Adam Hamilton collected a total of seven. Other scorers included Patrick Lipford, Charles Harington, Jacob Smith, Griffin Kennedy and William Craiger.

“I’m very proud of this team so far this season,” said SMCC coach Frank Giarmo. “The weather doesn’t always help in spring, but we’ve stayed focused and continue to show something every day and work hard.”


Obey leads Milan

MILAN — Lauryn Obey scored three goals and two assists to lead the Milan soccer team to a 5-1 win over St. Mary Catholic Central on Wednesday.
