PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Gavin Pool-Harris, Wilson, Goalkeeper, Junior

Wilson’s Gavin Pool-Harris led the Bruins to the Moore League Championship that season with a 10-0-2 record, which was the program’s best league record in school history. He was named Moore League Most Valuable Player and Moore League Goalkeeper of the Year. The junior goaltender had 11 shutouts, including the first six league games. Pool-Harris conceded just three goals overall against Long Beach Poly, Millikan, Jordan, Cabrillo, Lakewood and Compton, which set a league record, according to Wilson coach CJ Brewer. Overall, Wilson finished with a 12-5-4 record. Brewer also credited Pool-Harris, a team captain, with organizing the team’s defense, which allowed for 15 goals in 21 games.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Brewer led Wilson to the Moore League Championship and second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Playoffs. The Bruins finished the league game with a 12-5-4 record and a 10-0-2 record. Brewer, a Wilson graduate, is also a boys’ cross country and track and field coach at his alma mater.
