NHL DFS Analysis and Tips for 4/26/22

Yesterday caused so much excitement…okay not really. There was only one game last night. Tonight, however, we welcome another massive slate of several prime pairings. I’ll do my best to walk you through this list of thirteen games on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00pm EST.

There are no teams that play in the second half of a back-to-back game. The Coyotes and their second-worst 3.75 GA in the league will travel to the high-flying Wild, while the Maple Leafs and their second-best 3.76 GF in the league aim to cement their playoff placement against the hapless Red Wings.

Vegas odds for the day

NHL DFS goalie

Marc-Andre Fleury – 8.5 000 DKK || FD$8,800

Opponent – Arizona Coyotes

Picking a goaltender from such a long list tonight isn’t an easy decision, and it doesn’t help when multiple teams are in good matchups — Tampa Bay vs. Columbus, for example — either. The Coyotes are downright terrible, however, and it’s small pay to put Fleury over Vasilevskiy. The Coyotes have averaged under 2 goals per game in their last 10 games. They are also bottom of the league with 2.41 goals. If a keeper has a shot at a shutout tonight, it’s definitely Fleury, even if his save percentage has been poor lately.

Other factors to consider (cash/GPP): Vasilevksiy (DK$8.3K || FD$8.9K), Demko (DK$8.2K || FD$8.6K), Markstrom (DK$8,000 || FD$8.5K), Bobrosvky (7, DK$9,000 || FD$8,000), Oettinger (DK$7.9,000 || FD$7.3,000), Gibson (DK$7.4,000 || FD$7,000), Sorokin (DK$7.3,000 || 7th ,8,000 FD$)

NHL DFS Centers

Austin Matthews-DK $9.2 000 || FD$10.3,000

Opponent – Detroit Red Wings

Welcome back to the Austin Matthews train. The Leafs pivot continues to tear up the league and he’s now entering one of the best matchups of the entire season. The Red Wings are still behind with Larkin in the final few games of their season, which will open the floodgates for Matthews. In Austin’s last five appearances, he has 5 assists and 21 shots. The Red Wings also have the third-worst defense in the league and that only helps the center’s case tonight.

Steven Stamkos – DK$6.9 000 || FD $7.9K

Opponents – Columbus Blue Jackets

If you don’t want to pay all the way for Center tonight, you may be just as happy with the production from Stammer himself. Stamkos again centers the top line for the Lightning, but this team between Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov. Aside from his new linemates, Stamkos has posted double-digit fantasy points in his last six games, recording 6 goals, 12 assists and 21 shots. We’re seeing top-notch Stamkos right now, and it’s perfect timing for the playoffs. Play him while he’s hot.

Other factors to consider (CASH/GPP): Miller (DK$7.1,000 || FD$8.3,000), Malkin (DK$6.5,000 || FD$7,000), Norris (DK$6.2,000 || FD$6.9,000), Pettersson (5, 5,000 DK$ || 6.3,000 FD$), Zegras (4.5,000 DK$ || 5.7,000 FD$), Gaudreau (3.7,000 DK$ || 5.4,000 FD$), Mercer (3.6,000 DK $||4.2,000FD$)

Kevin Fiala – DK$5.9 000 || FD$7.5,000

Opponent – Arizona Coyotes

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Fiala was a steal when Minnesota bought it and nobody knew why. Well I think after he’s recorded 5 goals, 10 assists and 22 shots in his last five games, critics should know why. The Wild winger is currently scoring an incredible number of goals and has easily filled the gap left by team-mate Matts Zuccarello – who is injured. Additionally, the Coyotes are not only terrible offensively, but also defensively, making it a prime matchup for goal-hungry Fiala.

Brock Boeser – DK$4.1 000 || FD$5.8,000

Opponent – Seattle Kraken

There are many hard-to-reach options at the higher end of the pay range tonight, and we need to find some value plays that will help us spend money. Boeser is the perfect opportunity to spend money and save valuable salary. The Canucks winger has been coasting for most of the season, but he seems to turn them on when linemate Elias Pettersson turns them on — cough, cough, STACK, cough, cough —. Boeser shoots the puck relentlessly and builds up that shooting bonus to create a decent bottom. Now just hope he bounces the puck with the shots.

Other factors to consider (CASH/GPP): Kaprisov (DK$8,000 || FD$9.4,000), Kucherov (DK$7.3,000 || FD$8.9), B. Tkachuk (DK$6,000 || FD$6.9,000), Rakell (4, 9,000 DK$ || 5.5,000 FD$), Mikheyev (4.3,000 DK$ || 5.5,000 FD$), Vatrano (3.4,000 DK$ || 4.2,000 FD$), Sugar (3.1,000 DK $||4.8,000FD$)

NHL DFS Defenseman

Jonas Brodin – DK$3.7 000 || FD $4.1K

Opponent – Arizona Coyotes

It looks like the Minnesota Wild will take down Matt Dumba and Jared Spurgeon for this matchup, leaving them with Jonas Brodin at quarterback for the extremely efficient top power play. Brodin has struggled again this season with just 29 points in 70 appearances. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t make peripherals. In the last five appearances he has 8 shots and 7 blocked shots. This is the perfect chance to cash out and get a potential ceiling game.

Erik Brannstrom – 3.1 000 DKK || FD$4,000

Opponent – New Jersey Devils

Here I speak again of Brannstrom. The defender continues to lack point production, just like the last defender I highlighted above. However, Brennstrom also produces peripheral devices. In his last five games he has 7 shots and 10 blocked shots. The Devils could lose more players and their goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood will make his first start in a while. This is a good matchup for Brannstrom to produce on a manageable salary.

Other factors to consider (CASH/GPP): Hedman (DK$6,800 || FD$7,300), Dobson (DK$6,000 || FD$6,100), Hughes (DK$4,800 || FD$5,600), Dunn (DK$4,000 || FD$5,000), Matheson ( 3.9,000 DK$ || 4.2,000 FD$, Grzelcyk (3,000 DK$ || 4,300 FD$)
