Montgomery baseball continued to soar, winning its fourth straight game in six days and defeating Bucktail 18-3 in three innings. The Red Raiders have surpassed 10 runs in four straight games and made the last 18 yesterday. Colby Springman went 2 for 3 with two doubles and four RBIs while Noah Gearhart was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs. Freshman Brady Peace won his second straight start and Donny Mezger hit an RBI double as did Coltin Hans.

Muncy shut out Sugar Valley 15-0 in four innings. Giovanni Persun hit two doubles and Ross Eyer secured victory on the hill for the Indians.

• In high school softball, Marissa Helmrich hit a three-run home run and combined with Hannah Winter for a two-hit shutout as Loyalsock defeated Bloomsburg 11-0 in five innings. Allyia Kennedy had a big day when she won 3 for 3 with a double on the same day she was named to the Class AAA All-State team. Winter also went 2 for 3 and Loyalsock moved into the HAC-II for first place.

Chevelle Bauman and Izzy Gush combined a three-inning no-hitter and Muncy hit five triples in a 16-0 win over Sugar Valley. Nolah Moyer homered and tripled while Izzy Gush went 2 for 2 with two threes and four RBIs. Casey Fry and Taylor Shannon each produced two hits, triples and three RBIs. Muncy (8-1) won his fourth straight game and had 12 hits in two at-bats.

Central Mountain swept past Shamokin 11-0. Caitlyn Watson hit a two-run homer and finished the day with five RBIs 3 for 5. Harley Kunes, Madisyn Wian and Audrey Walker had two hits each.

Johanna DeVore and Brianna Trueman each had two doubles as Montoursville edged Hughesville 17-2 in softball. Leading 3-1 after the first inning, Montoursville put the mercy rule into effect with an eight-run tail of fourth.

• Williamsport’s Kyle Shuler and Central Mountain’s David Lindsay both reached the semifinals of Wednesday’s District 6 Class AAA singles tournament and then played the game a day later as Central Mountain defeated the Millionaires 4-1. Lindsay defeated Shuler in #1 singles 6-0, 6-1.

Williamsport’s victory came in doubles No. 2, where Owen Kaar and Sam Radulski recorded a 6-1, 6-3 win over Leisher Gugino and Lucas Porter. Ethan Hall won 2nd place in singles for the Wildcats 6-2, 6-4 against Shreshth Singh.

North Penn-Liberty lost a tight match against Cowanesque Valley 3-2. Daniel Harman won for Liberty at No. 1 in singles 6-1, 6-3, and Brett Meise and Nate Boyer won at No. 1 in doubles 6-3, 6-2. At No. 2 in singles, Cody Peers won for the Indians 6-2, 6-1.

South Williamsport edges Muncy, 3-2. Kaleb Meyer won for No. 1 Muncy in singles in three sets, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, South’s Wyatt Robbins also won in three sets, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, over Muncy’s Zach Slamka.

Montoursville lost 4-1 to Central Columbia. The Warriors’ lone win came in #3 singles where DJ Alexander Brady defeated Madden in a great matchup 2-6, 6-4 (14-12) in a super tiebreak.

Tyler Gilbert fell second in the Warriors’ singles, 6-4, 6-3 to Bryce Hazzard.

Milton’s Luke Embeck and Talen Hoffer won in doubles No. 1 in a three-set contest 6-2 4-6 6-4 against Andon Kloostra and David Lyttle, but Milton lost 3-1 to Selinsgrove. Both teams lost the No. 2 doubles competition.

Gaven Russell lost a great match in the No. 3 singles to Garrett Spriggle of the Seals, 7-4 4-6 7-5.

Wellsboro defeated Towanda 4-1. Joe Doty grabbed a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win in the No. 1 singles and Liam Manning recovered against Dacion Yrigollen. After falling 6-3 in the first set, Manning won twice in a row 7-6 (8-6), 6-0 to secure the win.

• Kylie Bieber won both the 100 and 200 in 13.60 and 27.80 seconds, while Hughesville’s girls track team beat Mount Carmel with 94.51. Another two-event winner was Alexis Kurzawa for the Spartans, who ran a 2:40.00 to win the 800 and a 6:03.00 to win the 1,600.

Liz Fortin won the 400 in 1:04.00 and Sarah Gardner won the 300 hurdles in 52.10.

• Logan Long won the 400, Kenneth Draper won the 800, Morgan Gavitt won the 1,600 and Nicholas Fortin won the 3,200 for Hughesville, but the Spartans fell in the boys’ track to Mount Carmel, 91-59.

Long won with a time of 52.00 seconds, Draper won the 800 in 2:12.00, Gavitt won the 1,600 in 4:35.00 and Fortin won the 3,200 in 11:22.00.

Josh Heiney earned a victory for Hughesville in the high jump by clearing 5ft, 6in.
