Preview, prediction for FC Cincinnati’s rematch with Toronto FC

After FC Cincinnati’s win over Toronto FC on Saturday, Luciano Acosta squirmed in his chair when asked if he should play Toronto again in four days.

“It’s crazy,” Acosta said, laughing.

Rookie centre-back Ian Murphy said he was unaware that the FCC calendar called for back-to-back Toronto games without being recently made aware of it.

“To be honest, I only found that out a few days ago. I thought, ‘We’re meeting who on Wednesday? Toronto?” Murphy said Saturday night. “It’s obviously going to be weird.”

The players accurately reflected the widely held belief that Wednesday’s return leg between FC Cincinnati and Toronto FC is at least an odd planning quirk, if not something that should have been avoided.
