Hyderabad : The Gaudium Junior Badminton Championship, hosted by Gaudium School, Kollur Campus in association with Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy and Badminton Association of Telangana ended today at Kollur Campus. Main Guest Ms. Upasana Kamineni, Vice President of Apollo Life and Editor-in-Chief of B Positive Magazine; presented the awards to the winners at the championship farewell ceremony. The opportunity was presented by Mr. Nityananda Reddy, Chairman of Gaudium Group and co-founder of Aurobindo Pharma Limited; Ms. Kirthi Reddy, Founder and Director of Gaudium Group and Mr. Ramakrishna Lingireddy, CEO of Gaudium Group.

The Gaudium Junior Badminton Championship attracted more than 700 entries from elite badminton academies and international schools in Hyderabad and 6 other states. The tournament was for both boys and girls in the under 13 to 15 age group and had the categories boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles.
Upasana Kamineni, who spoke on the occasion, said, congratulations to each of you for participating in this championship and I think you are all winners. You are part of this mastery because of your dedication and commitment at a young age and that can really take you far in your future life. You also need to be recognized for inspiring several others to stay mentally and physically fit. I chose to spend Children’s Day among these children and I feel like I made the best choice and I’m really happy about it. The vision of Keerthi garu has shown me a different perspective of what the children can do. I’ve always been a chubby kid and now seeing these kids I felt really empowered. I challenge every parent out there and every kid out there to play sports, this discipline will really take kids far in life and that’s really important. I am pleased that schools are now focusing more on sport as an integral part of education. I think everyone is a winner as long as you are disciplined and able to take responsibility for your body, mind and spirit.
Ms Kirthi Reddy said, we had a very encouraging response for badminton and especially this championship with 700 participants, overall the championship is a great success. Mr. Gopichand, the mentor, has been an inspiration to all and I thank him for his continued support.
