The home of Irish sport opens its world-class facilities to everyone

The Sport Ireland Campus encourages everyone – regardless of fitness level – to take the opportunity to experience the world-class facilities in the home of Irish sport.

The Sport Ireland campus is open to all and there is something for everyone at every level.

The campus is known for being home to high performance programs from IRFU, Swim Ireland, FAI, Hockey Ireland, Badminton Ireland, Gymnastics Ireland. International teams such as the All Blacks also use the facilities for their training camps.

It’s not just for elite athletes though: the Sport Ireland campus caters to the needs of the local community with participation programs and is also open to visitors from across the country for events or facility rentals.

Ideal for team or individual training, the Sport Ireland campus has world-class indoor and outdoor facilities that host local, national and international events. Many of our current and future Olympians train on campus in preparation for competitions around the world.

The Sport Ireland campus also offers valuable facilities for the local community with rental facilities, children’s camps, academies, parties, team building events and corporate conferences and exhibitions.

There are also inclusive programs for athletes with disabilities and people recovering from chronic diseases.

Here we go

The Here We Go campaign was designed to promote these world-class institutions by connecting with the public and encouraging them to learn more and get involved.

As Michael Murray, Chief Operating Officer of Sport Ireland Campus explains: “Here We Go is a reminder of the central position that Sport Ireland Campus holds as the home of Irish sport. I encourage everyone to learn more about the Sport Ireland campus and see how they can participate in some world class programs and facilities.”

Some of the amazing facilities on campus include:

Sports Ireland National Indoor Arena hosts a number of different sports including track and field, field sports (rugby, soccer, GAA), gymnastics, basketball, badminton, martial arts and more. This fully accessible, multi-sport and multi-purpose arena was built to the highest world-class standards. It ensures that Ireland has the best indoor sports and events facilities available for use by sports federations, elite athletes, clubs and the general public.

It is impressive indoor plastic courts, including a full size football pitch which is also suitable for all field sports and a half size rugby pitch.

The heart of the building is a 200 meter long indoor trackused for athletic training, competitions and a variety of other sports.

That Sport Ireland National Gymnastics Training Center is a bespoke facility with all the facilities needed for elite artists, academies, camps, school and corporate team building events.

That Sport Ireland National Aquatic Centre attracts over a million visitors every year and hosts national and international events. High-performance athletes train here, as do mass sports and adult swimming academies, diving academies, school programs, member or family leisure swimming. The NAC is also home to the renowned family-friendly AquaZone water park and a top-notch gym, Sport Ireland Campus Fitness, which welcomes all fitness levels.

The campus also houses the IRFU High Performance Centerthat GAA National Development Center for Gamesand the FAI National Training Center. That Multisport synthetic courts provide training for the national ice hockey team and also provide all-weather courts for local soccer and Gaelic teams with a total of 10 courts and a pavilion with meeting rooms.

The Olympic standard National Equestrian Arena is in the old walled garden of Abbotstown House for riding training and events. The arena is designed for show jumping, dressage, carriage driving, pony and eventing.

That Sport Ireland National Cross-Country Course was the venue for the 2021 European Cross Country Championships and is a permanent track for training and competition, as well as a weekly run in the park.

That National Center for Modern Pentathlon with a fencing arena and a laser shooting range complements the on-campus facilities for running, swimming and horseback riding and offers all five modern pentathlon sports in one place.

That National Diver Training Center allows Ireland’s top divers as well as the dive academy, gymnasts and our Kids Camp participants to practice and perfect their technique outside of the pool using highly specialized trampoline and tumbling areas.

The list of facilities is endless. Other highlights include a Campus Conference Centerthat Cricket Ireland High Performance Training Centrea Cyclocross Skills Zone, hiking trails. Aside from these facilities, all can enjoy over 500 acres of hiking and running trails, forest trails, a 2.5km loop of outdoor fitness and exercise equipment, and open spaces.

More than 25 national governing bodies have offices at the Sport Ireland campus Irish Sports Authority and in individual offices. This facilitates cooperation and cooperation between the various sports laws in Ireland.
