Lionel Messi schedule 2022: When and how to watch PSG and Argentina matches

Lionel Messi is likely to end the 2021/22 season with some wins at Paris Saint-Germain as the French giants get closer to their 10th Ligue 1 title.

The Argentine magician may not have had the scoring chances he expected this season, but his influence on PSG’s attacking build-up game is clear with 21 goals in 28 appearances in La Liga and Champions League games.

No doubt Messi hopes to improve his tally in the remaining games of the season and continue preparing for the World Cup in Qatar in November where he will look to lead his country to glory for perhaps the last time.

Sporting News takes a look at its schedule for the rest of this season, as well as explaining how fans can follow or stream all the action.

What does Messi’s PSG schedule look like for 2022?

As for 2021/22, Lionel Messi has six games left at PSG to clinch the Ligue 1 title. Sunday’s 2-1 win over Marseille put them in a leading position.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have a 15-point lead at the top of the table and should they beat Angers on April 20 and Marseille fail to win against Nantes, PSG will be confirmed as champions.

Here is the list of the remaining games the former Barcelona man could play in until May 21.

Are Messi’s PSG involved in cup competitions?

no Unfortunately for PSG, they don’t stay in any cup competition this season. Disappointingly, they were eliminated from the Champions League in the round of 16, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid.

In January’s Coupe de France, Messi’s side suffered a surprise penalty shootout defeat by Nice at the Parc des Princes – also in the round of 16.

Their loss in the Champions’ Trophy opener against Lille in August 2021 leaves PSG with only the Ligue 1 title to contend for this season.

What does Messi’s Argentina fixture list look like for 2022?

Messi is also expected to make Qatar shine, with Argentina among the favorites to win the World Cup, which will be played from November 21 to December 18.

Argentina have been placed in Group C where they will face Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Poland.

They also have a game scheduled against Italy in June, dubbed ‘Finalissima’ – a meeting of the champions from Europe and South America – while they will almost certainly arrange some warm-up friendlies before the World Cup begins.
