The seven-year itch dilemma is real. Some couples can’t resist the urge to merge with someone else. That’s how the trouble begins in “Breathe Again” (streaming now on Vivamax). It is directed by Raffy Francisco and directed by Ariella Arida, Tony Labrusca, Jela Cuenca and Ivan Padilla.
The provocative flick makes you wonder if you would stay with someone just because you have a history in common, or fall in love with someone you have chemistry with.
Here are quotes from Ariella (A), Tony (T), Ivan (I) and Raffy (R):
A: It’s my first time working with Tony so I was wary that I would suffer compared to his previous leads. But it was just “chill mode on” working with him. Most of our scenes were shot underwater which gave us a relaxed atmosphere.
T: At first I felt a bit awkward shooting sexy scenes with Ariella. I look up to her because she’s a title holder. That made me even more nervous.
A: My love scenes have different dynamics. With Ivan, it shows intimacy in a long-term relationship. But with Tony, it captures the spark of a newfound love.
T: I have many toxic qualities. But when asked about it, I adapt and change.
R: At the core of our film is finding yourself again. It also has facets about caring for the sea, as Tony portrays a freediving instructor. He and Ariella didn’t have doubles in their underwater scenes.
T: Sometimes we were underwater all day, so Ariella and I teased each other that we tasted salty when we kissed.
I: I miss doing action movies because I’m a martial arts expert. Even if our film is a bit erotic, there is something for everyone.
A: If I meet someone new who ignites that spark, I will end my longstanding relationship. Out of respect, I will not let my relationships overlap.
T: About the controversies I got caught up in, that’s what it is. I just wish they hadn’t happened. I’m glad the case is closed. It was suffocating to be judged. Now I can breathe again.
R: The title of our film means hope. Your next breath could be someone’s last.
I: My conclusion from our film is choosing the right things to fill the emptiness inside you.
“Secrets”: The dark side of sexual experimentation
Follow the chilling voyage of discovery of a couple who thought they knew everything about themselves in Secrets (streaming on Vivamax June 10th).
Topbilled by Janelle Tee, Denise Esteban, Felix Roco and newcomer Benz Sangalang, it tells a dark tale of sexual experimentation.
Directed by Joey Reyes, it shows how couples trying to keep their love vows can also keep secrets from each other.
Here are quotes from Janelle (J), Denise (D), Felix (F) and Benz (B):
J: There are things we will do that we never thought we could do when we meet someone who fills needs that our partner cannot fill.
B: Even though I’m a newbie, Direk Joey didn’t intimidate me.
Q: I’m not very good at keeping secrets. It’s certainly too much pressure not to squeak.
D: I have no deep, dark secrets that I fear will be revealed on my road to fame.
B: My body is my puhunan (investment). But I’m also very aware that sexiness is not enough in show business. I also need to improve my talent.
Q: It takes courage to do bold scenes. It doesn’t get easier the more you do it.
J: I don’t worry that I have nothing left to show after making one sexy movie after another. In any case, I will always find ways to surprise the audience and surpass myself in my next projects.
D: If I’m bored in a relationship, we have to talk about it. It’s taboo for me to sleep with someone else just to spice up my life.
J: I’ve learned not to think too much. Fear will always be there. I just trust my director 100 percent. My boldness lies not only in taking my clothes off, but also in my tenacity.
