How Much Production is Louisville Baseball Losing?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — While Louisville Baseball’s 2022 season was coming to an end through Texas A&M in the College Station Super Regional, there is hope for next season that the program can return to Omaha, Neb. for the College World Series.

The Cardinals are returning four regular starters to the field — Jack Payton, Christian Knapczyk, Logan Beard and Isaac Humphrey — with all four hitting at least .310 with 90+ total bases. Riley Phillips appears to be the next star ace up the hill following his dismal post-season performance, with Evan Webster and Ryan Hawks also set to return. Not to mention Louisville is bringing in the No. 3 recruit class overall and a handful of reserves from 2022 may make big leaps in 2023.
